Young Thai Artist Award

The SCG Foundation has always recognized the importance of art in fostering intellectual, emotional, and mental growth. Seeing the artistic potential in Thai youth, the foundation has organized the “Young Thai Artist Award” since 2004.

…Over the past two decades, this competition has sparked dreams, nurturing young artists as they grow in their artistic journey toward becoming professional artists. Like diamonds polished to brilliance, these young talents have shone not only on Thailand’s stage but also as global artists.

The Young Thai Artist Award has been granted royal patronage from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who has graciously presented the prestigious awards to young artists in six categories since 2017. The initiative aims to promote and support the artistic abilities of Thai youth aged 15-25 from across the country. They can submit their work in six categories: 2D Art, 3D Art, Photography, Film, Literature, and Music Composition. This initiative is made possible with collaboration from various organizations and network, including King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Silpakorn University, Bangkok University, the Writers’ Association of Thailand, Mahidol University’s College of Music, and Chulalongkorn University, as well as esteemed members of the judging committee. This platform has continuously provided opportunities for young talents to be recognized and nurtured within the Thai art community.

New Gen Space :
Space for All Generations

SCG Foundation is committed to creating opportunities and enhancing the abilities of young artists who have won the Young Thai Artist Award, as well as other youth. The foundation has established the “New Gen Space: Space for All Generations” as a creative area for everyone. This space is open to youth, organizations, educational institutions, foundations, allowing them to showcase their creative ideas and abilities. It serves as an exhibition space for art, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, design, installation art, performance art. The space hosts creative discussions and public engagement activities aimed at enriching society. Located on the 3rd floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), this space is available for use free of charge to support and develop the talents of Thai youth.

…SCG Foundation aims for the New Gen Space to be a place of opportunity, supporting people of all genders and ages to express their creativity and use the space for the benefit of society.
