In celebration of His Majesty’s Coronation in 2019, SCG and SCG Foundation partnered with government and private entities and volunteer networks nationwide to honor H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua with initiatives under the “Commemorate His Majesty the King” project. This effort seeks to enhance the public’s quality of life, in line with His Majesty’s commitment to “Continue, Preserve, and Build Upon” the achievements of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great.
…The happiness and benefits from using these spaces are precious gift for auspicious occasions. And these spaces that have been developed and changed will be used to the greatest benefit for the good health of all people.
The “Commemorate His Majesty the King-crown prince hospitals” project was conducted by SCG Foundation from 2019 to 2021, improving facilities at 21 Somdej Phra Yuparaj hospitals across the country. This was done in collaboration with the Somdej Phra Yuparaj Hospital Foundation, the Environmental Wellness Research Group from the Faculty of Architecture at Kasetsart University, and architectural networks nationwide. Through participatory design, the project aligns with the hospitals’ vision to become happy, community-responsive organizations. The spaces developed included waiting areas, multipurpose zones, and cafeterias, incorporating BIM technology to minimize waste, save time and costs, and optimize resource use.
Recognizing the demand for adequate restroom facilities in areas with high public usage, such as inpatient and emergency buildings, SCG Foundation initiated the “Happy Restrooms” project. This project renovates restrooms for safety and accessibility, enhancing facilities across all 21 Somdej Phra Yuparaj hospitals.
